Waltham Vanguard, 23 Jewel Railroad Pocket Watch,
This Waltham railroad pocket watch is 16 size (case diameter 49 mm). This movement is marked Vanguard, with 23 jewels, adjusted 6 positions, and is a later model with pressed jewels. Movement condition is about excellent with only minor handling marks. The original Vanguard marked porcelain dial has a couple VERY faint hairlines. The case is rolled gold plate and getting thin - case might have been replated. Crystal is original glass and nice. Made in about 1938.
This watch runs and keeps reasonable time: within 5 minutes or LESS per day. I do not know the history of this watch, so it may need to be serviced.
