    Description

This is a DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) Museum needlepoint kit from 1990. It makes a pillow top or it could be framed. It is a new kit.
Some of the yarn colors are dark teal, light and medium blue, dark gold, medium and dark rose, light pink, light yellow, ivory, light and medium green. (The picture of the yarn makes the dark bluish teal yarn look almost black....but it is a dark teal color.) The DAR Museum is an art and history museum run by the Daughters of the American Revolution and is located in Washington, D.C.
    The package says:
“The DAR Museum was originally established to preserve Revolutionary “relics” and has become a major repository for American decorative arts. A 1990 centennial celebration of its founding was the inspiration for this needlepoint kit. This elegant rose design pulls together numerous elements from pieces in the Museum’s collection, including several beaded bags and a drawing for a sofa cushion found in “Godey’s Lady’s Book”.
This kit contains a full-color hand-printed #14-mesh Zweigart canvas, 100% Persian wool yarns spun here in America, needle, and instructions produced exclusively for the DAR by It’s Polite to Point, Inc., Annapolis, Maryland. The finished size of this kit design is 12” X 12”.
