RARE UK DOG ART CIGARETTE / TOBACCO / TRADE CARD, COLLECTIBLE, UK. Original 1924 Moustafa Cigarettes Dog Card, One of a Series of 40 Dog Head Art Studies by Leo Chambers. Each card is sold individually, Very Good plus condition, with minor edge wear, possible minor soil due to age and handling, minor rounding of corners, but overall GOOD condition with no creases, but minor edge wear and soil to front as shown. Also note there are two little indentations on the card, one right above the dogs's head, and one over to the right of that, similar to impressions left by staples or something, so they can be seen when light is reflected off the card. My other cards of this set are in better condition than this, and this is the very last of these that I have, hence the lower price. Artwork of the dogs is vertical in format, a head study with great expression, and a solid colored background, typical of portrait painting. Reverse side of all cards printed with breed details. Leo Chambers artwork makes this of absolutely framable quality, one of the finest canine artists of the time! Size of the card is 1.4" wide by 2.65" high. Artwork with a fine black border is 1.25" wide by 2.35" high.
This Auction is for ONE card, Alsatian or German Shepherd Dog ONLY!! Number 1 in the Series of 40. Description: Like the St. Bernard, he is not for small spaces. He often tops 26 inches, and 100 lb. is quite an ordinary weight for him. He has, or should have, a very square muzzle, long head, clean neck and generally an appearance of great strength. His coat should be short, colour brindle, harlequin (black and white), blue, black and fawn.

Condition Grading (Worldwide!) is typically as follows:
Mint: Almost as good as new; entirely un-blemished.
Excellent: As good as could be expected: cards clean with a minimum of damage, sharp corners and edges.
V. Good: Slight damage only. Corners not creased but may have slightly rounded corners, some light soiling possible especially to end cards.
Good: Some damage or soiling, includes corner damage, damage from adhesive backs, grubby backs.
Fair: Card may be damaged by creases, folds, crack or dirty mark.
Poor: Card with a number of the above faults.
